Every vacant unit is awarded to the applicant with the highest vetted points. Six transparent criteria drawn from the University's Housing Regulations determine each score. Ties are settled by ballot.

Your academic or administrative rank, from Professors through Lecturers, Technicians and entitled staff.
Length of service
Longer service counts in your favour, including study leave with pay.
Special office
Deans, Heads of Department, Examinations Officers and other officers are recognised.
Dependants
Registered children are considered, with an added allowance for children of opposite sexes.
Residence
Staff not currently housed within the university system are taken into account.
Pooling
Spouses who are both staff may combine their eligibility toward a single unit.
